All of them had one thing in common; they all believed in movement expression, wherein on dances to express oneself.

However, rhythmic gymnastics never had its own limelight until in 1929. Hinrich Medau founded his own school, The Medau School in Berlin, which aimed to train gymnasts in Modern Gymnastics, along with the use of apparatus.

Oxana Kostina

Although her career was short, she had the chance to be hailed as the New RG Queen of her time. She gained popularity with her excellent results at the 1992 European Championships.

Yulia Barsukova

Olexandra Tymoshenko

Retired in 1992 at the age of 20
Achievements:
Olexandra became the USSR All-Around Champion. She started rhythmic gymnastics at a tender age of 8, and it ended on her twenties. She has a total of 41 medals: a medal each for Olympic Games and Competitor for Soviet Union, 12 medals for World Championships and 27 for the European Championships.

    I think Evgenia should be number 1 no offence, she is the best in history and two time Olympic champion and she created lots of elements including switch turn, ring pivots etc she had a huge influence on RG it even states on her wiki page and she is nicknamed “The Queen” after all. I disagree a lot with this list, some of the best gymnasts are at the bottom when they should be right at the top
