Rhythmic Gymnastics – a little secret to winning Olympic Games

July 18, 2012

For many years the success of the Russian National RG Team depended on two people – the team coach Irina Viner and the leotard designer Marina Gogua. In July 2012, United Kingdom will host the Olympic Games – the competition every athlete is dreaming about. But only the best will participate in the World Games.

Just as in previous Olympics, the designer from Novgorod city will be responsible for the beauty of the Russian gymnasts. Russian gymnasts have achieved many historical victories while wearing the leotards designed and made by Marina. Her secret is that all leotards are decorated with something very special and unique. A beautiful eye is hidden in the pattern of the leotard made for Alina Kabaeva – the Queen of the 2004 Olympics. And in 2008 there was no one equal to Evgenia Kanaeva in Beijing Olympics.

‘An eye is my talisman that brings victory’, – confessed Marina Gogua on the eve of the Beijing Olympics – But it is only just a little bonus. The main reason for the success of Russian gymnasts is their attitude to immense hard working.

So what has Marina created for London Olympics?

‘I really have many ideas on how our Team should look like’, – says Marina looking through the album with patterns. I think this year the Olympic leotards will be in gentle colours but at the same time they will look luxurious, rich and decorated with precious jewels. I wouldn’t want to reveal all the secrets now but be sure all the leotards will be saturated with good energy.

– This leotard looks very gentle due to the ornament of small and big stones (there are 7000 Swarovski stones on it!). Evgeniya Kanaeva liked the transition from green to pink. She will wear this leotard during the European Championships which will be held in Nizhniy Novgorod in the beginning of June 2012, and then I hope to see her wear this leotard during the Olympic Games in London. She will surely win!’
